What Our Partner's Say about working with Mearns Academy
Simon Donald - Muehlhan
I’m grateful to help bridge the gap between Mearns Academy and the world of work. My role allows me to support pupils in gaining the skills, experiences, and confidence they need to succeed beyond school.
Through employer partnerships, career insights, and practical learning opportunities, DYW gives every young person the chance to explore their strengths and discover pathways that suit their goals.
With this support in place, our learners are better prepared for their future—and parents and carers can feel confident knowing we are helping them thrive in life, learning and work.
Claire Findlay - Ross Agri
With Agriculture facing a major staffing crisis, we felt it was critical to connect with schools and the upcoming workforce of tomorrow to highlight our industry as an option for school leavers. We have made some excellent connections, and as a direct result of the collaborations with the school, have recruited several apprentices.
Shelagh Marr - NSTA (North Sea Transition Authority)
At the NSTA we are committed to supporting Developing the Young Workforce and our local schools. We’ve found that by attending mock interviews it allows our staff to develop their own interpersonal skills and to share their experience of interviewing and interview techniques with the young people. Interviews can be daunting at any age, so to have a practice run with someone who is supportive and able to provide feedback is a great opportunity. Our staff return to the office with high praise for the young people that they met and are always willing to get involved again.
How to get involved
We deeply value the contributions of our local partners, whose support enables us to deliver meaningful and impactful experiences for our pupils. Together, we help to cultivate a culture of respect, prioritise wellbeing, and inspire ambition in every pupil at Mearns Academy.
If you or your organisation share our vision and would like to explore partnership opportunities with us, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Together, we can continue to build a brighter future for our pupils and the community we serve.
