Extra Curricular Opportunities
Mearns Academy’s Health & Leisure Faculty prides itself on the extra curricular programme that is on offer for our pupils. The PE department works closely with Active Schools and is supported by staff across the school to deliver a wide variety of lunchtime and after school clubs. Our NPA Sports Development class also gain valuable leadership and coaching experience through their involvement in our extra curricular programme.
Along with our lunchtime and after school sports clubs we enter teams and pupils into various regional and national sports events. This is a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to represent the school and compete against others in their sports.
Throughout the course of the year we review our extra curricular programme and contribute to the inter house activities. Examples of events that take place include: -football, netball, dodgeball, badminton, cross country and athletics. These events are supported by the Inter House Committee and it’s great to see large numbers of pupils representing their house.
Further information on our extra curricular programme and how to sign up can be found via the link below.
